Lodi
is located just south of Sacramento and north of Stockton. To the west
are the thousands of miles of waterways in the Sacramento River Delta,
and to the east is the historic Gold Rush country of the Sierra Nevada
foothills. The area enjoys mild winters and long, relatively rain-free
summers, tempered by a 'Delta breeze' which comes in from the west, along
the waterways, bringing welcome coolness from the Pacific Ocean. As a
result, local residents and visitors enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities
in which to participate, from fishing and boating to skydiving, birdwatching,
softball or soccer. In any season, there is always something fun and interesting
to do in and around Lodi, for people of any age or background. And if
that is not enough, Lodi is within easy day trip driving distance to the
Mother Lode Gold Rush country, the Sacramento Delta, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite,
Sacramento, Reno, San Francisco and Monterey.
All but hidden by expansive stretches of vineyards
and miles of almond, cherry and walnut orchards, the area beckons travelers
to discover Lodi and the Lodi wine country. Despite California's rapid
growth, Lodi has preserved its small town charm, offering visitors an
easy pace of life longed for by many.
